SMART WAYS TO STORE FOOD TO STAY FRESHER LONGER

01
Mushrooms
Store mushrooms in the fridge wrapped in a paper towel to prevent them from getting slimy
02
Leafy greens
Wrap leafy greens in a damp paper towel in a plastic sealed bag in the fridge

03
Celery, carrots, radishes
Chop celery, carrots, and radishes then place them in a jar with water in the fridge
04
Green onion & asparagus
Keep green onions and asparagus in a jar with just the roots in water

05
Herbs
Freeze herbs in a sealed plastic bag. If you choose not to freeze them, place them in a jar with just the roots in water and the tops covered with a loose plastic bag
06
Onions, potatoes & garlic
Onions, potatoes, and garlic should be placed in a cool and dark place separate from each other

07
EGGS
Keep eggs in the original packaging. To check whether the eggs are fresh, submerge in water, if the egg sinks then it is fresh!
08
Cheese
Before storing cheese, wrap it in wax paper. If the cheese is cut, simply rub butter on the exposed portion to help it keep fresh

09
Cottage cheese & sour cream
Storing cottage cheese and sour cream containers upside-down will reduce the change of mold growth
10
Apples and peppers
Apples and peppers should be placed in a plastic bag and put in the fridge drawers
