North Carolina
Wild horse tour
Outer Banks, North Carolina
The Outer Banks of North Carolina have a unique species of wild corolla Spanish mustang horses which casually stroll along the beaches. This tour takes you along beaches that are only accessible with off-roading vehicles to see the horses in their natural habitat. The tour guide explains the history behind the horses while enjoying the beach and the surrounding ecosystems. This was such a cool, unique experience that is suitable for the whole family.

HISTORIC YATES MILL COUNTY PARK
4620 Lake Wheeler Rd, Raleigh, NC 27603
This is a 174-acre park that contains gardens, hiking trails, and educational buildings while also preserving the agricultural heritage. This park used to be the home of 70 running water mills, now only containing one in operating condition. In the 1900’s these mills provided service to grind corn and wheat into meal and flour. In 2006, the park restored the last operating mill and opened it to the public. This is an awesome thing to stop and see if you enjoy history.
BOXYARD
900 Park Offices Dr, Research Triangle, NC 27709
The coolest indoor/outdoor restaurant. This place is made of upcycled shipping containers and contains a collection of several restaurants and shops. There is a pavilion in the middle where there is performances and there is truly a food option for everyone. I love the sustainability factor of the shipping containers and the concept of several food options at one place is so unique.

THE RALEIGH NIGHT MARKET
Raleigh, North Carolina - Moore Square
Unfortunately, this market is only once a month, however if you get the opportunity it is a MUST. The night market is a showcase of local art and creativity. You can find locally-made goods, enjoy entertainment, food, and drinks! It is so fun to walk around and experience different vendors, with great views of the city.
