Harpers ferry national historic park
Aside from exploring the history of Harpers Ferry and everything that occured in the area, there is also trailheads, shops, restaurants, tours, and museums. George Washington designated Harpers Ferry as the second national armory in 1795 to manufacture firearms. Harpers Ferry also preserves the site of John Brown’s Raid of 1859, an epic event in opposition to slavery, which helped precipitate the Civil War. Harpers Ferry is a stage for many significant historical events took place, a super cool spot if you are a nerd for history! (and gorgeous views)
Cacapon resort state park
Absolutely gorgeous state park with a wide variety of activities including: biking, golfing, camping, hiking, fishing, horseback riding, swimming, hunting, geocaching, spas and museums! There is something to do here for everyone. Several trailheads lead to beautiful overlooks of the WV mountains that are to die for.

The old roman bath house
The historic bath house is located within the Berkeley Springs State Park. The bath house is home to a mineral spa that has been used since colonial times. The park is known for it’s warm, mineral-filled, spring water that flows at a consistent temperature of 74.3 degrees. The bath house offers spa services, massages, saunas, baths and showers. The park is also home to George Washington’s bath tub, yes you heard me correctly. There is a museum on the property explaining the history surrounding the bath house in the 18th century — absolutely wild!
If you are wanting to bathe in the spring water — be sure to book an appointment ahead of time.
